HHS Fashion Club hosts prom show

On Feb. 23, the Howell High School Fashion Club is hosting a prom dress fashion show at the Howell Opera House. The doors open at 6 p.m., and admission to enter is five dollars. All proceeds from the event benefit Lacasa. There will be a photo booth, raffle drawings, music, and the event is also being catered by The Howell Restaurant.

“Most of the members are sophomores to seniors, so I’m friends with a lot of sophomores that I wouldn’t be friends without, I feel like a big sister,” senior and vice president of the club, Emily Clevenger says.

Dresses are coming from businesses such as Permz, David’s Bridal, Cinderella’s Closet, and possibly Coco’s. Raffle prizes are coming from businesses such as LB Photography and Men’s Warehouse. Lacasa, which is the charity the event is benefiting, is a local, non-profit charity that began in 1979. It provides services to victims of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault.

“It’s a really fun and exciting thing to do, being able to try on all the dresses and getting your hair done, it’s kind of like a spa day,” junior Ally Boss says.
