On Wednesday, October 9, the famous boy band that stole every teenage girl’s heart selling 20 million album copies in 2007, canceled their 19-date tour two days before it was set to kick off. The reason?
Apparently, on the weekend of October 11 there was a heated argument between the trio – Nick, 21, Joe, 24, and Kevin, 25 – regarding the direction of the band and its music. Nick wants a more pop/jazz twist to the music, Joe wants to incorporate more rap/hip hop, and Kevin wants to keep their style the same.
Earlier this year, the band released their new single, “Pom, Poms”, which was a huge success. The fans were so excited for their comeback tour, selling millions of tickets, which are now being refunded due to the cancellation.
Over the last few years, the brothers have each pursued other projects of their own. Kevin and his wife Danielle have starred in their own reality TV series, E!’s “Married To Jonas” while expecting their first child, and Nick and Joe released solo albums with their personal bands.
The brothers told PEOPLE magazine that their whole situation with the band is only about their creative differences and not the people that they are becoming and that they’re hoping to work things out.
The Jonas Brothers’ fans will just have to wait it out and continue to be supportive. It sounds like the brothers could use all the support that they can get at this point.
