On Monday, November 11, Howell High School will be recognizing Veterans Day by hosting an assembly in honor of all the veterans that have served throughout the years in the U.S military.
The Veterans Day assembly has been a tradition at HHS for years and is currently being planned by students in the Leadership class. Seniors Austin Palmer, Cody Black and Christine Grajek contacted local veterans and invited them to this year’s event. So far, over 100 local veterans are expected to be attending this year.
“We would be honored to have them here after all they have done for our country,” Cody Black says.
The assembly will take place during third hour, although it is not required for classes to attend. During the event, the HHS choirs and bands will also be performing.
“We are looking forward to it because they have done so much and the very least we can do is provide them with some music for them to enjoy,” says band director Jason Smigell.
