The Highlander Restaurant is now up and running every Thursday and Friday. During first and second hour, breakfast is being served, and the regular menu is available during all lunches.
With the new teacher of the culinary classes, Chef Walker, who has worked in fine dining in high class restaurants and country clubs, the students are learning to make new foods like the latest addition to the menu, Stuffed Salmon Wellington. However, they are still sticking to a lot of the same items, like their well-known hamburgers.
“Where else are you going to get salmon at a high school, and for five bucks. That’s a pretty good deal? I really hope to open kids’ minds to new choices and hope they actually enjoy them!” Chef Walker says.
The prices of this quality food range from $1 to $6.
“We are serving good food that high schoolers like for great prices,” says student restaurant manager, Taylor Depew.
