Applications for the annual Senior Survivor competition are now available online at howellschools.com, as well as in the Main Office.
The application process includes agreeing to and signing a contract stating that if you become a ‘Survivor,’ you are only allowed to have the necessary clothes and hygiene products for the week, must still attend class during the week, have no lower than a 2.0 cumulative GPA, and are not allowed to access cell phones, iPods, or your car keys. Applicants must also agree to participate in “pool-based challenges,” as well as be recorded for Senior Survivor episodes.
The applications also include a parent permission slip, as well as an ‘applicant interview’ in which the applicant must answer why they believe that the Senior Survivor competition should continue at Howell High School, and why the applicant believes that they can become the ‘Ultimate Survivor’. A video under two minutes is highly recommended for the interview, and must be emailed to Ms. Andrea Brady ([email protected]) no later than Thursday, March 27 at 2:30 p.m. Written interviews can be stapled and turned in with the paper application.
“T-Shirt sales will begin April 2. All money raised this year will be going to The Rainbow Connection, an organization that grants wishes for terminally ill children,” Ms. Brady says. Applicants are asked to familiarize themselves with the charity before applying.
Completed applications are due no later than March 27 at 2:30pm, and can be turned into the main office, as well as Ms. Brady in room P-7 at the 10-12 campus. All parts of the application must be completed to be considered by the selection committee to compete. Contestants will be selected by April 1, and must attend a mandatory meeting after school on Wednesday, April 7. The Senior Survivor Competition will begin on Sunday, April 27.
