The annual Howell High School Band Banquet will be held on Wednesday, May 28 in the HHS cafeteria. Seating for the banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m., and dinner, which will be catered by Grille in the Ville, will be served at 7.
All HHS band members and their families are invited to attend the banquet. Reservations are mandatory to reserve a seat and plate. Reservation forms are available in the band room and are due by May 19to the mailbox in the band room. Tickets are $16 per person, and band seniors can eat for free, but are still required to reserve a spot by turning in a form. Checks can be made out to Howell Band Boosters.
“The banquet is a time where we get to look back on the year, have some food, have some laughs, and pass out various awards,” says band director Jason Smigell.
Included in the banquet will be a picture montage of photos taken throughout the year, as well as senior band member’s baby and senior photos. Seniors are asked to email their photos to Emily House and Lydia Miller.
The banquet is also the time where students receive awards based on the amount of varsity points they have received throughout the year, such as their varsity letter, gold and silver bars, and gold and silver stars.
“The banquet is a time to reminisce over memories throughout the year, and say goodbye to our band seniors,” says senior Kayla Finch. “It’s always a bittersweet time.”
