HHS hosts first blood drive of the year
October 23, 2014
On Monday, Oct. 27th, American Red Cross and NHS will be hosting the first blood drive of the year. It will be held in the auditorium lobby 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. during school. Students can sign up for a time to give blood at lunches all this week.
On the day of the blood drive, an NHS member will come to your hour during your time and give you a pass to come down or ask you to come down early if there are open spots for earlier times. If you are giving blood in the morning hours, please remember to eat a good breakfast. Snacks and drinks will be provided by NHS after your blood is drawn.
“It’s important because it helps the people in our community,” NHS president Ashley Quick-Drossart says, “They [the American Red Cross] need the blood in order to help other people with like blood transfusions and everything and if they don’t have enough blood, how are they going to be able to do that?”
