“Make the Music Stop” raises money for good cause
March 25, 2015
This past Monday, March 23, the song “Everything is Awesome” from The Lego Movie began echoing through the hallways in between every passing time throughout the day. This isn’t the school just trying to promote positive vibes, it is a fundraiser put on by the Freshmen Class Student Council, to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation. The freshmen are asking the freshman campus to donate $500 and the 10/12 building to donate $1,500 in order to “Make the Music Stop”, meaning in order for the song to stop playing the student body needs to raise that much money, if not the song will continue to play until the end of the school year.
“To be honest, I think it’s kinda fun, since they are playing the whole song and not just the chorus, it’s not all that bad,” senior Cassie Stewart says.
Many people have different opinions about this fundraiser, whether they like it and think it should continue until they raise the money for this good cause or they dislike the idea and think they should raise money in a different way. “The song makes me want to bang my head against a wall, but it’s for a good cause so we should try and raise enough money,” junior Katie McCray says.
So if you want this song to end you must donate money now! Every fifth hour teacher will be asking for your donation until the Freshmen Student Council meet their goal.
